Featuring an exclusive central clubhouse, bowls green, pool, putting green and communal veggie garden, Emblem Benalla aims to create a community within a community.

With a focus on sustainability, privacy, and safety, the peaceful location along Mansfield Rd has the added bonus of easy access from the Hume Fwy.

Just a stone’s throw from Benalla Golf Club and only minutes from all the Rose City has to offer, Emblem Benalla will feature 168 homes, of different sizes, to suit households looking to downsize, tree-changers, and everyone in between.

Emblem Group director Rowan Pollard was at the site on Wednesday, February 21, where he met Benalla Rural City Councillor Don Firth.

“We’ve commenced work on-site, and the next stage will be getting some of the early works done, which will allow us to have some displays built,” Mr Pollard said.

“That will really help the community know exactly the quality of the homes we’re building.”

Mr Pollard said even though they are affordable homes, they are built to a very high standard.

“We are focused on community,” he said.

“Emblem will be a small community within the larger community of Benalla.

“Research shows that people who live in communities live longer. Offering that ‘ageing in place’, where residents don’t have to move on. They can move in and live here for as long as they want.”

Cr Firth said he recalls when the planning permission for this development was passed.

“That day, every councillor spoke about the need for more housing in Benalla” Cr Firth said.

“The good thing from council’s point of view is we didn’t just get presented with a plan and told this is what we want to build.

“We actually negotiated for some time and made suggestions through our planning department.

“Rowan was great in the way he was prepared to change the plans following some of that input.

“And I think we’ve ended up with something the community really needs.

“You can downsize from a home in Benalla into one of these.

“You have your money that you’ve saved, which you can spend on other things.

“And for every person who moves into one of these properties, it frees up another house in Benalla for a local family.”
